JUSTICE COLLECTIVE
A Co-Created Fellowship Programme for JBA Practitioners

The Justice Collective is a dynamic, co-created fellowship programme for United Edge alumni that brings together a global community of social justice leaders to deepen their practice of the Justice Based Approach (JBA) and collectively amplify their impact. Through collaborative learning, meaningful projects, and intentional community-building, Fellows will gain the skills, tools, and support they need to navigate the turbulence of today’s world and work towards a more just future.

This fellowship is grounded in the Five Pillars of JBA—Radical Systems, Living Democracy, Everyday Activism, Alternative Models, and Brave Accountability—and designed to move from ideas to action. Together, we will explore innovative approaches, implement practical strategies, and build resilience both at the grassroots level and for systemic transformation.

Fellows will:
-
Engage in interactive learning sessions and workshops led by United Edge, peers, and global facilitators.
-
Collaboratively lead justice-rooted projects that bring JBA principles to life in real-world contexts.
-
Take an active role in building the JBA movement, inspiring others, and sharing justice-based alternatives.

This is more than a fellowship—it’s a growing global community of practice where practitioners lead, learn, and innovate together. Whether through spreading awareness, shaping new models, or supporting movements for justice, Fellows will leave with a deeper understanding of JBA, stronger connections, and tangible tools to create meaningful change.

If you’ve already been through Justice Based Approach courses with United Edge and are ready to deepen your work towards systemic justice, build powerful connections, and co-create a future rooted in equity, the Justice Collective is for you.

THE REASON
We are living in an era of unprecedented challenges: rising authoritarianism, climate breakdown, mass extinction, systemic cruelty, and the ongoing war on the poor and marginalized. For many, these times are bleak, while a powerful few continue to thrive. If we stay on our current path, these crises will only deepen. At present, there are few signs that meaningful change is on the horizon on a scale that has a significant impact.
For those of us committed to justice, this reality demands two urgent priorities. First, to continue our work for long-term, radical systemic change that can turn the tide and create a future rooted in justice. Second, to prepare ourselves—and those most affected by global injustices—for the turbulence and uncertainty ahead. We must ensure we are ready for the challenges our current trajectory may bring while working to create localized examples of justice in action.
As a community of practitioners, we have found hope, solidarity, and direction through the Justice Based Approach (JBA) and our experiences as Alumni, Team Leaders, and Associates with United Edge. Now, The Justice Collective offers an opportunity to take our practice to the next level—deepening our understanding of the Five Pillars, strengthening our community, and inspiring action to influence policy and build resilience at a grassroots level while continuing the work toward large-scale system change and a just future for all.

This fellowship represents an opportunity to collaboratively develop strategies and amplify our impact. Together, we will gain new skills and tools, work on justice-rooted projects, and build a thriving community of practice prepared to create the meaningful change our world so desperately needs.

Welcome to the next stage of United Edge—The Justice Collective.
THE JUSTICE COLLECTIVE
A Co-Created Fellowship Programme for JBA Practitioners
MORE DETAILS
THE FELLOWSHIP
The Justice Collective fellowship is a co-created, collaborative program designed to bring together JBA practitioners who are committed to creating systemic, lasting change. The fellowship focuses on three core elements that make up its foundation:
1. COLLECTIVE LEARNING
This is where Fellows will deepen their understanding of the Justice Based Approach (JBA) and its Five Pillars while strengthening their leadership and skills for social change. Each month, Fellows will take part in a 3-hour live session, alternating between:
-
JBA-focused seminars led by United Edge, exploring aspects of the Five Pillars in greater depth.
-
Workshops led by Fellows or external facilitators, designed to cultivate practical skills, share expertise, and build capacity.
Sessions will be participatory, reflective, and tailored to the collective’s needs.

2. PROJECT LEADING
Fellows will be part of one or more self-directed project teams focused on bringing JBA to life through real-world action. Each team will work collaboratively to:
-
Develop a shared vision and clear goals.
-
Implement practical deliverables that support justice-rooted change.
-
Build peer accountability mechanisms to maintain momentum.
Project teams may focus on areas such as writing, events, coaching, outreach, and more, with opportunities to propose and create new teams as the fellowship evolves.

3. COMMUNITY BUILDING
Fellows play a pivotal role in building the JBA movement, sharing resources, inspiring others, and connecting individuals and organizations to justice-based opportunities. Community building is flexible and can look different for everyone. Some Fellows may:
-
Join the paid Outreach Team to support course recruitment and earn commission-based recognition.
-
Support United Edge courses and workshops by taking on roles as Team Leaders.
All Fellows are encouraged to actively participate in the community, share about JBA, and represent the collective’s shared values in their work and lives.

This fellowship is not just a learning opportunity—it’s a space for action, connection, and co-creation. Through collective leadership, meaningful projects, and a thriving global community, Fellows will help amplify the Justice Based Approach while deepening their own practice of justice.
THE PARTICIPANTS
This fellowship is exclusive to United Edge alumni. There are three entry requirements:
-
All fellows must have passed at least one United Edge Course (JBA Foundation, Transformative Safeguarding, or Strategic Foresight) as a general participant AND have completed at least one course as a Team Leader with full attendance
-
All fellows must complete the next available JBA Foundation Course as a Team Leader if they have not yet gone through one
-
All fellows must commit to a minimum of one year on the fellowship programme, as well as all the time commitments that come with the Justice Collective
